The first edition of the current Rolex Shanghai Masters was held in 2009. That same year, the tournament was voted ATP Masters 1000 ‘Tournament of the Year’, and recieved the same honor for the following four years. This speak volumes about the tournament’s prestige. Novak Djokovic holds the record for the most titles, having won the Shanghai Masters four times. The Rolex Shanghai Masters is one of the biggest tennis tournaments outside Europe and North America.

The Rolex Shanghai Masters will be played at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena, an impressive venue with a capacity of nearly 14,000. The sports park features eight tennis courts all with Deco-Turf hardcourt surface. The Qizhong Stadium also boasts a retractable roof, allowing play in all weather conditions -perfect for an uniterrupted tennis experience!
