A top weekend and Boxing Day

World class matches & Derby’s

The first weekend we are really looking forward to is the one of September 25th. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur then play the North London derby, while Manchester City visit Chelsea. Two world class matches in the same weekend.

Liverpool and Manchester City, the champions of the past two years, will face each other for the first time on October 2. A month later, the first Manchester derby is played: on November 6 at Old Trafford. The first half of the season ends on Boxing Day (December 26), when all teams get to action. Football during Christmas, an English tradition that you would love to experience.

Get to know the new teams

In addition to the traditional top teams, it is always nice to discover a relatively smaller club from the inside during a match day. The Premier League welcomes three new teams this season: Norwich City, Watford and Brentford. Three unique clubs with their own identity that add something to the league.

Norwich City won the title in the Championship. Something striking about Norwich is that the club has supporter groups from all over the world. In the stands they are united. With constant vocal support they encourage their mutual love.

Watford is also making its comeback in the Premier League. The Hornets can say they have a famous singer among their supporters: Sir Elton John even was owner of his favourite club. Before every home game, his song ‘I’m Still Standing’ is sung along by the Watford fans.

Brentford had to wait 74 years to play on the highest podium again. The West London club won the play-offs against Swansea City and will be playing in the Premier League for the first time. Not at the familiar Griffin Park, but in the brand new and modern Brentford Community Stadium. A new era begins for The Bees.
