Real Madrid are a professional football club based in Madrid, Spain and also known as Los Blancos. Real was one of the founding members of La Liga in 1929. Anyone who knows Real Madrid knows that it is a club with many successes. In fact, there is no other club with more titles when it comes to European tournaments, like the UEFA Champions League. They have won this prestigious tournament 5 times in a row from 1956 to 1960 and also 3 times in a row in the current century from 2015 to 2018.
Real Madrid owe a large share of these prizes to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. He is the leading marksman in Real Madrid’s history with 450 goals, scored in 438 appearances (more than one a game).

Real Madrid has 2 main rivals: One is Atletico Madrid with whom they play in the Madrid derby & the second is FC Barcelona. The rival game with FC Barcelona is called “El Clasico” and might even be one of the biggest clashes in all sports across the globe, rivaling the Super Bowl or World Series when it comes to global viewing power. It’s a game that has given us some unforgettable moments by the dizzying star power in both teams. Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Di Stefano, Ramos, Iniesta. It doesn’t stop
In the early parts of the 20th century, Real Madrid first played at Campo De O’Donnell and then moved to the larger Campo de Chamartín in 1924. In 1943, Chamartin had already become too small again and club-president Santiago Bernabéu decided that Madrid needed a newer and modern stadium.
This construction began in 1945, and in 1947 Estadio Santiago Bernabéu officially opened with a match against Portuguese champions OS Belenenses (3-1). The stadium was initially called Nuevo Estadio Chamartin, but received the name of the club-president eight years later. At that time, Estadio Santiago Bernabéu consisted of two uncovered tiers that could hold just over 75,000 spectators, the current capacity of the stadium is just over 85,000.
