But where should you sit during the Italian Grand Prix? The best grandstands at Monza depend on what you want from your race weekend. Do you want to see overtaking, feel the speed of the cars, enjoy the Ferrari atmosphere or get the complete F1 experience?

If you are wondering where to sit at Monza, it depends on what you want to see during the race. There is no single grandstand that is best for everyone, as each part of the circuit offers a different view. 

For the best overall experience, Grandstand 1 is a great choice, with views of the start, finish and pit lane. If overtaking is your priority, the grandstands at Prima Variante put you right next to one of the main braking zones. For high speeds, Alta Velocità lets you see the cars flying past. 

If atmosphere is most important to you, the Parabolica area is a great choice. You can enjoy the famous corner while being surrounded by passionate Italian and Ferrari fans. 

Monza is made up of several very different sections. From the long start/finish straight to the fast Ascari chicane and the famous Parabolica, each area offers a different race experience. 

Start/Finish Straight 

Choose the Start/Finish Straight if you want to be close to the heart of the action. It is one of the best options for a first visit to Monza because you get more than just the race itself: you are close to the start, finish and pit lane. 

Grandstand 1 is the best option here if the full F1 experience is your priority. You are opposite the pits, so you can follow the teams and pit stops as well as the race. 

Grandstands 26A–C are a good alternative if you mainly want the atmosphere of the start and finish. The downside is that you get less of a view into the pit lane than from Grandstand 1. 

Best for: Complete F1 experience, start, finish and pit lane.

Alta Velocità 

Choose Alta Velocità if speed is what you want to feel most. This section gives you a real sense of why Monza is known as the “Temple of Speed”, with the cars flying past at very high speeds. 

Grandstands 6A, 6B and 6C are ideal if you want to experience the sound and speed of the cars rather than focus on overtaking. The downside is that there is less close racing and action compared with Prima Variante. 

Best for:  High speeds, sound and the true Temple of Speed experience. 

Prima Variante 

Choose Prima Variante if you want to see cars fighting for position. The heavy braking into the first chicane creates one of the best opportunities for overtaking at Monza. 

Grandstands 7, 8A and 8B are a strong choice for fans who want action throughout the race. You can see drivers attack, defend and brake hard into the corner. 

The downside is that this area is more focused on one part of the lap, so you will not get the same overall race experience as you would from the Start/Finish Straight. 

Best for: Overtaking, heavy braking and close racing. 

Seconda Variante & Roggia 

Choose Seconda Variante and Roggia if you enjoy watching the drivers work through a technical section rather than simply watching cars fly past. 

Grandstands 9 and 10 offer a good mix of braking, direction changes and acceleration. They can be a good alternative to Prima Variante if you want to see how the drivers handle the car through a series of corners. 

The downside is that this section generally offers less overtaking than Prima Variante, so it may feel quieter during some parts of the race. 

Best for: Braking, technical driving and direction changes. 

Lesmo 

Choose Lesmo if you are more interested in the drivers' skills than in overtaking. The two Lesmo corners are fast and technical, so this is a good place to watch how drivers carry speed through the corners. 

Grandstand 34 is the main choice here. It suits fans who enjoy the technical side of Formula 1 and want to see the cars being pushed through a fast section. 

The downside is that Lesmo does not offer the same level of overtaking or race-defining moments as Prima Variante. 

Best for:  Fast corners, driving skill and technical action. 

Ascari 

Choose Ascari if fast cornering is what you enjoy most. The chicane combines speed with several quick direction changes, making it one of the most interesting sections for watching the drivers at work. 

Grandstands 12–18 cover the Ascari area, giving you different options around the chicane. This is a strong choice if you want to see how much speed the drivers can carry while keeping the car under control. 

The downside is that Ascari is more about cornering than overtaking, so it may not be the best option if close racing is your main priority. 

Best for: High-speed cornering, driving skill and technical action.
