The circuit of Mexico is called Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. For those who speak a little Spanish will know that the word ‘brothers’ appears in it. The circuit was named after the Mexican brothers and Formula 1 drivers: Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez. These were the national racing heroes of Mexico, and both lost their lives to motor racing. This shows again that racing is a dangerous and extreme sport. Currently, Pérez is the current racing hero in Mexico with a huge fan base. On the circuit, the drivers race 71 laps on the 4.304 km long track, which is 2200 metres above sea level. With up to three DRS zones, the circuit has yet another speed dementia. In 2026 Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will be back on the Formula 1 schedule.
In 2016 at the Mexican Grand Prix, 372.5 kilometres per hour was hit on the straight, the highest measured speed in Formula 1. Mexico has been voted the best F1 race weekend a few times.
