French football club Lille Olympique Sporting Club also known as Lille OSC is from the French town of Lille. Founded in 1902, the club is one of the oldest football clubs in France. Les Dogues even became the first official national champions of France in the 1932/1933 season. Afterwards, they captured the national title four more times and the Coupe de France six times. It was thus named after the former politician and mayor of Lille Pierre Mauroy. With a capacity of 50,186 spectators, it is one of the largest stadiums in France. Besides being home to Lille OSC, the Stade Pierre Mauroy also hosts concerts and other sports. During the 2016 European Championship, the stadium hosted matches in the group stage, eighth final and quarterfinals of the tournament.
