The Dockers Derby
Millwall’s biggest rival is West Ham United. This English derby known as the ‘Dockers Derby’ was first contested in 1899. The two teams faced each other for the first time in the fifth round of the FA Cup on 9 December 1899. Millwall Athletic vs Thames Ironworks, as both teams were called at the time, ended in a 2-1 victory for ‘The Dockers.’
The new Den has been the home ground of London’s Millwall FC since 4 August 1993. After a period of no less than 83 years, The Dockers swapped The Old Den, located on Cold Blow Lane, for a new more modern stadium on Zampa Road. Also known as The Den, the new stadium can house 20,146 fanatical supporters. And fanatical supporters Millwall have plenty!
