    Results per race

    1. Bahrain Grand Prix

    Bahrain International Circuit

    03-03-2023/05-03-2023

Since the circuit opened in 2004, the Bahrain Grand Prix has been a regular feature on the F1 programme. Only in 2011 was it skipped a year and the upcoming season also includes the Bahrain Grand Prix and again as the opening event. Due to the high temperatures in Bahrain, the race is held in the late afternoon/early evening. The Bahrain Grand Prix is usually a fierce battle in the desert, let’s hope this edition is no exception.

    2. Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

    Jeddah Corniche Circuit

    17-03-2023/19-03-2023

Another evening race in the 2023 F1 calendar, the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. The bizarre street circuit of Jeddah Corniche has no fewer than 27 corners and drivers reach an average speed of 250 kilometres per hour. In terms of speed, the circuit in Saudi Arabia is second only to Monza. Speed is what the whole track is made for, though. The fastest lap ever made on the track in Formula 1 is by Lewis Hamilton. Will any of the drivers succeed in beating that record this year?

    3. Australian Grand Prix

    Albert Park Street Circuit

    31-03-2023/02-04-2023

The Albert Park Street Circuit is a beautiful circuit around Albert Park Lake in Melbourne. It is, as the name suggests, a semi-street circuit. This makes it difficult for drivers, especially at the beginning of the race weekend, to find grip on the street section of the circuit. The Formula 1 programme for 2023 also includes the Australian Grand Prix. This circuit has been subject to many changes over the years, which has actually only made the race more exciting! And, last but not least, Melbourne is a particularly pleasant city.

    4. To be decided

    14-04-2023/16-04-2023

The weekend of April 14, 2023 was actually for the Grand Prix of China, but Formula One has decided to take it off the calendar. The reason is the corona policy in China. Formula One organizers are hard at work looking for another race to fill the gap. When this one is known, you will read about it here.

    5. Azerbaijan Grand Prix

    Baku City Circuit

    28-04-2023/30-04-2023

Azerbaijan’s capital will also be part of the Formula 1 programme in 2023. At the Baku City Circuit, it is almost impossible to drive a perfect lap. This is because of the treacherous corners followed by long straights, where drivers can test their cars vigorously. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is always exciting. The margin for error is incredibly small!

    6. Miami Grand Prix

    Miami International Autodrome

    05-05-2023/07-05-2023

The first of a total of three Grands Prix on US soil will be run at the Miami International Autodrome. Miami is on the Formula 1 schedule for the second time. In 2022, the first edition was at this brand new circuit, located near the stadium of the city’s NFL club: the Miami Dolphins. It was expected beforehand that a top speed of 320 km/h could be achieved on the circuit. So it’s safe to say it’s a fast circuit. Will Max manage to maintain his unbeaten status at Miami International Autodrome?

    7. Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix

    Autodrome Enzo e Dino Ferrari

    19-05-2023/21-05-2023

The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix is better known to many racing fans as Imola. A breathtaking circuit near Bologna among the forests. The circuit is named after Ferrari founder Enzo and his son Dino. It is one of the few circuits that has only one DRS zone. Last year a sprint race was held here, which Max Verstappen won. Unfortunately, this year’s race has been cancelled due to severe weather in the region.

    8. Monaco Grand Prix

    Circuit de Monaco

    26-05-2023/28-05-2023

The Circuit de Monaco is a true classic on the Formula 1 calendar. The Monaco Grand Prix is also referred to by some as the most important GP of the year. This is partly because it is one of the most difficult F1 circuits. The Circuit de Monaco is incredibly narrow. Nelson Piquet once spoke the famous words about Monaco: Racing in Monte Carlo is like cycling in your house. So one thing is for sure, excitement and thrills are guaranteed!

    9. Spanish Grand Prix

    Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

    02-06-2023/04-06-2023

For Max Verstappen, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is one to remember. After all, this is where he won his very first Grand Prix in 2016. The rest of the drivers also like to return to the circuit that has been a regular feature of the Formula 1 schedule since 1991. The circuit is made up of a mix of slow and fast corners and a small number of straights. An ideal track to test the capabilities of the race cars. Free tip: combine the Spanish Grand Prix with a city trip to Barcelona.

    10. Canadian Grand Prix

    Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

    16-06-2023/18-06-2023

The Canadian Grand Prix is a special one. The Gilles Villeneuve circuit is located on the artificial Island of Notre Dame in the St Lawrence River. This scenery makes for spectacular images of the race. Among drivers, it is a popular race. Only the brakes of the cars are overly less happy with the circuit. Due to the high start-stop rate, they get a hard time. With a number of tight corners, the famous hairpin and long straights, excitement and spectacle are guaranteed.

    Red Bull Ring

    30-06-2023/02-07-2023

In the mountains of Spielberg, Austria, is the picturesque Red Bull Ring circuit. A circuit that will not be missing from the 2023 Formula 1 programme. The GP of Austria is always well attended by supporters from the Netherlands, there is even a special Orange Grandstand for them! As a result, Max Verstappen can count on a lot of support. He did manage to keep Charles Leclerc behind him this season. The drivers race 71 laps on this relatively short circuit. Unique to attend!

    12. British Grand Prix

    Silverstone Circuit

    07-07-2023/09-07-2023

A must-visit racetrack for F1 fanatics, the British Grand Prix simply must be seen once. The legendary circuit breathes racing history. Lewis Hamilton once compared a lap around Silverstone to flying a jet plane. So speed abounds at the circuit, which also contains a number of technical segments. Of course, Formula 1’s oldest circuit cannot be missed on the F1 calendar.

    Hungaroring

    21-07-2023/23-07-2023

In 2023, the Hungarian Grand Prix will also be back! The Hungaroring is often compared to a go-kart track due to its many corners and lack of straights. This has earned it the nickname ‘Mickey Mouse circuit’. The drivers drive as many as 70 laps in the Hungarian Grand Prix. Because of the corners, the drivers have to stay focused throughout the race. Point-of-your-seat work, in other words!

    14. Belgian Grand Prix

    Spa-Francorchamps

    28-07-2023/30-07-2023

The name Spa-Francorchamps gives many racing fans goosebumps. This magnificent circuit in the Ardennes will definitely be part of the 2023 F1 calendar. But not only for the fans, also the drivers love this circuit. It has fast, challenging corners, long straights and it is the longest circuit on the calendar. The always frenzied spectators complete the picture. The Belgian GP is a true classic, just like Silverstone, and a must-visit for Formula 1 fans.

    15. Dutch Grand Prix

    Circuit Zandvoort

    25-08-2023/27-08-2023

It will now be the third year in a row that Formula 1 will see Circuit Zandvoort be part of the calendar. The 2021 and 2022 editions were a great success, so it is not surprising that the FIA has decided to stick another year to it. The circuit is located in the Dutch dunes, close to the sea. If you are very quiet, you could hear the waves lapping. But it is never quiet at the Zandvoort circuit. Max Verstappen’s Orange army always flock to Grand Prix Zandvoort en masse. Will he manage to win the race for the third year in a row?

    16. Italian Grand Prix

    Autodromo Nazionale Monza

    01-09-2023/03-09-2023

Of course, The Temple of Speed should not be missing from the 2023 F1 schedule. Monza has been given this nickname for a reason. During the Italian Grand Prix, the drivers tear around at full throttle no less than three quarters of the time! The Autodrome Nazionale di Monza is also one of Formula 1’s oldest circuits. The circuit is located near Milan. Visiting Monza can therefore be well combined with a trip to the city of AC Milan and Inter Milan.

    Suzuka Circuit

    22-09-2023/24-09-2023

F1 drivers love it: the Japanese GP. So it is no surprise that this circuit is also on the calendar of the 2023 Formula 1 season. What makes the Suzuka circuit so popular? Besides being lightning fast, it is also one of the most challenging circuits. Lots of corners that can be driven at high speeds. The brakes have a quiet weekend at this circuit.

    Marina Bay Street Circuit

    15-09-2023/17–09-2023

Singapore is also set to return for the 2023 Formula 1 season. Like Monaco, the Marina Bay Street Circuit is a narrow street circuit. In addition, the Singapore Grand Prix is physically one of the toughest races on the calendar. It is an evening race, the road surface is bumpy and the climate is extreme. A unique feature of this circuit is that the drivers drive under the grandstand at one point. So all the ingredients are gathered for an impressive race!

    Losail International Circuit

    06-10-2023/08-10-2023

Losail International Circuit was actually supposed to be on the F1 calendar only from 2023, but was already used as an alternate in 2021. It will host the Qatar Grand Prix for the next 10 years. Losail International Circuit was originally designed for MotoGP. There are plenty of overtaking opportunities on the circuit with a very long straight and corners that drivers can enter at high speeds.

The brand-new Circuit of the Americas is also back on the 2023 F1 calendar. Like Qatar, the circuit in Austin, Texas was first scheduled in 2021. The US Grand Prix is the kick-off of four races to be run on the American continents. Fast combinations, long straights and also some slower sections, COTA has it all!

From Austin in Texas, the F1 circus heads to Mexico’s capital city. AutĂłdromo Hermanos RodrĂguez again has a spot on the F1 calendar for the 2023 season. This is especially good news for Mexican race fans. After all, the Mexican Grand Prix is a big people’s party every year. It is therefore no surprise that the Grand Prix of Mexico is one of the best-attended races. So for Sergio PĂ©rez of Red Bull, it is a real home race.

Of course, the Brazilian Grand Prix cannot be skipped in the 2023 racing programme. The AutĂłdromo JosĂ© Carlos Pace is a fixture in Formula 1. Colloquially, the circuit is mainly called Interlagos. A special feature of this circuit: the drivers drive against the clock, which puts a lot more pressure on the driver’s neck. This only happens at a few races in the year.

A brand new Grand Prix on the 2023 F1 calendar! In November, the drivers will drive around the Las Vegas Street Circuit. The format for this Grand Prix is a bit different than usual, though. Practice starts on Thursday and the real race on Saturday at night. This allows the drivers to race under the impressive lights of Las Vegas. The final race of the season will be held in Abu Dhabi, at the modern Yas Marina Circuit. Everyone remembers the 2021 edition of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The circuit was then the scene of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s title fight. A title fight that was only decided at the end. Let’s hope that the 2023 race will be just as exciting!

    Summary Season F1

The 2023 F1 season is over and it was not the most exciting season ever. Still, we can look back on an exceptional season. It was a year in which Max dominated from start to finish and also the year in which Mercedes and Ferrari were quite disappointing after all. Still, this season will be remembered for all the records Max Verstappen broke. Below you can see the 3 records the Dutchman broke.

Most successful driver in one season :

If you win all grands prix (with the fastest race lap) and you also win all sprint races, you end up with 620 points. We would then call this a perfect season. Max Verstappen came in at 575 points and thus came close to the perfect score. Max collected 92.7% of the maximum points a driver can get this season. A clear improvement on the record. Indeed, that stood in the name of Michael Schumacher in 2002 who collected 84.7% of the maximum score.

    Leading most laps :

The Dutchman rode in the lead so often that sometimes you could barely see him on TV. The director seemed more interested in the battle behind him than in that lone leading position. Max drove a whopping 75.7% of all laps in the lead. That’s 1,003 laps where he had no car in front of him. The record belonged to Jim Clark with 71.5% in 1963, but the record is now back in the name of the 3-time world champion.

Most successful team in one season :

Verstappen was successful this season, due to his dominance his teammate Sergio Pérez did not make a great impression. Pérez simply could not keep pace with the Dutch frontrunner, but he still scored two handsome victories in 2023.

As a team, Red Bull won no less than 21 out of 22 races, representing a staggering 95.4 per cent. With this, Verstappen and Pérez are making history that makes even the most iconic driver duo in Formula 1 dizzy. In 1988, McLaren drivers Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost won 15 out of 16 races, which at the time was an impressive 93.7 per cent.

Drivers with most GP wins/world titles

Max Verstappen has also made quite a jump on the most successful drivers of all time. You can find out more in this blog. We give you an overview of all the drivers of the 2023 season and the points achieved by them.
